Bodega Carlos Moro, Rioja

Established in 2014 in the town of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, in the heart of the Rioja Alta, it is a wine project marked by the passion of a winegrower, oenologist and winemaker: Carlos Moro. This winery, which houses an impressive underground draft, aims to become one of the wine references in a region where excellence and quality are essential signs of identity.

The winegrowing passion and knowledge of the winery’s winemaking team has enabled the selection of systems with greater verticality and care of the grape, with gravity movement systems. The winery continues year after year choosing the best plots in the area and increasing its hectares of vineyards.

Bodegas Clos d’Agon, Priorat,
Catalonia

The history of Clos d’Agon revolves around the main farmhouse of the estate, Mas Gil, which gives its name to the entire property.

There are written records confirming the existence of vineyards on this estate as early as the 15th century in what was Mas Sabater. In 1792 the current farmhouse was built, today called Mas Gil, which in ancient times was surrounded by 12 hectares of vineyards, planted with hybrid varieties, narrow planting frames and vase conduits.

The fundamental pillar for Clos d’Agon Winery has always been the production of very high quality wines that express the terrain in which they are produced and are a reflection of the climatic particularities of each vintage.

Special care is taken of the vineyard as if it were a garden, working mainly by hand, trying to provide conditions that avoid treatments with synthetic chemicals. Plants are pruned during dormancy using a “double Guyot” system without return thumbs. During vegetative growth, work is carried out carefully, removing excess shoots, denesting, thinning clusters and defoliating. The grapes are harvested at the optimum moment of ripening, by hand and deposited in stackable boxes of 15 kg capacity.

It is well known that at Clos d’Agon, great wines are made in the vineyard and not in the winery.

Bodegas Epifanio Rivera, Ribera del Duero

Bodegas Epifanio Rivera, established by the Rivera-Aparicio family, is connected to the most deep- rooted wine growing tradition in Pesquera de Duero. Their vineyards are more than 80 years old, their ancient underground cellar dates from the 16th century, and the wine press – known as “La Cocedera” – has been in use since the 19th century, producing family wine until this day.

Specific to Singapore, in 2015, the Erial Tinto Fino 2011 was the only Spanish wine to win the TOP TEN WINES AWARD in the prestigious UBS – Business Times Wine Challenge, blind- tasted and picked from an extensive & illustrious field of over 160 wines from all over the world.
